This is a site for parents, students, and fellow passionate learners and educators to see how learning is quickly changing and adapting to meet the needs of 21st century learners! We hope you take the time to see the kind of work we can do when we are in our 'Flow Zone'.
A New Beginning - Fall 2012
This year we are excited to continue to grow as educators and learners! Last year we began, what both of us felt was the most rewarding professional experience of our careers thus far. As we are explore the possibilities in education using promising practices grounded by fostering deep understanding, we become better designers of learning and our students become better citizens of the 21st Century.
Last year and this year, we are focused on using authentic, and rigorous tasks that are rooted in research woven together by ongoing effective assessment. We, Mrs. Kim Desmarais and Mrs. Judy Gaudet, are professional educators who feel it is time to step out of 'the box', and create an educational environment that will allow all our students to feel a sense of hope, dignity and purpose. Students require an environment that allows them to build 21st Century literacies. We have already grown so much in one year, and just like any educator we hope that this continues year after year!
The purpose of this website is to make our students learning visible. It is important for our learners to feel empowered, to communicate, celebrate and reflect on their learning with YOU, their authentic audience. This site also helps ensure our parent community can stay informed and passionate about their child's education. In addition, we hope it's useful for fellow colleagues who may also be on their journey to create learning environments that are enriching and empowering to see what we have learned. ENJOY!
